Record low temperature in Spain - minus 34.1 degrees

A record-low temperature of minus 34.1 was measured by a weather station in the Spanish Pyrenees, Reuters reported.
The station is in the Catalan region of Leida. The temperature was measured at 5.19 a.m. in the Aragon area.

A state meteorological agency said that such a low temperature was not measured in the Pyrenean Peninsula. Spain's previous lowest temperature was also measured in the province of Leyda - minus 32 degrees in 1956, BTA reported.

Spain's state meteorological agency announced an alert on the territory of almost the entire state on Thursday due to snowfall, cold and strong winds.
