Integrated system will coordinate disaster and accident operations in the Black Sea

Our country will have an integrated information system that will coordinate disaster and accident operations in the Black Sea in real time. This will improve the performance of the rescue teams and reduce the response time, reports BNT.
The information system will be built by 2023 with European funds.

Currently, the interaction is carried out with morally obsolete technologies - email, telephone. What is needed, to put the whole process in the necessary electronic platform, said Petar Kirov, Executive Agency “Maritime Administration”.

The new rescue system will bring together the work of various institutions and the Navy.

To have mobile modules to be installed on Navy helicopters, on Border Police vessels, he added.

At a later stage, the Maritime Administration will seek funds for the construction of two multi-purpose rescue ships.

To combat spills and to participate in search and rescue operations to be based in Varna and Burgas. To be fashionable, Kirov added.

At the moment our country has search and rescue climbs only in the nearby coastal area. If necessary, Bulgaria can request assistance from the European Maritime Safety Agency, which has two ships in Varna and Constanta.
