German restaurant launches food on slide over coronavirus

Restaurants need to be resourceful through the coronavirus crisis and that's why a Japanese noodle establishment in Hamburg caters to customers who come to get takeaways, using a rink crafted by a neighbour, DPA reported.
Provisions against the spread of coronavirus in Germany mean restaurants cannot serve meals on site and can only offer takeaway or with home delivery. Customers, however, get too close to each other in the waiting area, so a neighbor of the eatery shared the idea of the rink. The noodle slide is attached to the fence on the stairs to a terrace in front of the restaurant.

Thanks to the rink, customers can wait on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant and when meals are fed, direct contact is completely eliminated, said owner Florian Rieder.
