China launches another ocean surveillance satellite

On Monday afternoon, China launched the HY-2C satellite with the Changzhen-4B carrier rocket into orbit. It is the country's third satellite for ocean observations and the second of space-based infrastructure to monitor ocean dynamics, Radio China reported.
HY-2C will team up with HY-2B, which was launched into orbit in October 2018, and the next Y-2D satellite. They will form a network for precise monitoring of the marine environment, including the sea surface, wave height, water color.

HY-2C and the Changzhen-4B rocket were developed by the Chinese Space Science and Technology Corporation, and its operations are under the control of China's Ministry of Natural Resources.
