By the end of April 310m mobile devices had been connected to China's 5G network

By the end of April, 310 million mobile devices in China had been connected to 5G networks, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said Tuesday.
The number accounts for about 19 percent of all mobile phone users of the three main telecom operators — China Telecom, China Mobile and China Unicom, radio China transmits.

There are currently more than 9000 new scenarios of 5G application in China, such as the introduction of smart construction sites with higher management efficiency and lower safety risks, according to the ministry.

From there predict that in 2025 5G will lead to the formation of 2.93 trillion yuan ($457 billion) of economic added value (EVA). Last year, the new technology directly generated 811 billion yuan of gross economic output, according to a report on the development of the 5G network and its economic and social impact by the Chinese Academy of Information and Communication Technology as of this April.

The industry directly generated 189.7 billion yuan of economic added value and indirectly brought in about 2.1 trillion yuan of gross output in 2020. According to the ministry, China's mobile phone deliveries supporting the 5G network will be 80% of total in the second half of this year.
